The Suite is amazing with a Pink Cadillac coming out of the wall and the gates of Graceland surounding you. There is a large lit up mirror and artist chairs for that special movie set feeling too. The gals enjoyed a light lunch and were ready to get glammed up. Our artistry team then began their beautiful work of hair and makeup for all of the girls in the wedding party. These gals were transformed into rockabilly babes! You can see that for yourselves in the photo below. Kristine our beautiful Bride was a sight indeed! She was so happy and she really felt like her wedding was turned into a great day event which made it that more special. It’s always so rewarding to hear that from a Bride. The guys rocked it too, in colorful bowling type shirts. They looked great. Oh, and when Elvis walked the Bride down the aisle….the guests wailed. Well it’s one for the money, two for the show! It really was a show with our Rockabilly Elvis wedding. Ian and Kristine you were a big hit! Best wishes to you both on behalf of the staff at Viva Las Vegas Weddings.”Viva Vegas” is all I can say. Elvis & Company...

It was the fabulous wedding of the Beauty and the Biker! So, here we are at the World Famous Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel with two more “I-Do’s.” Tiffany and Chris came to the Chapel to get married from Oregon. They wanted to make thier wedding memorable….So, Elvis was the way to go for them. It’s been 9 years since the date was pre-set. Chris could not resist Tiffanys charm. Just a couple of lookers making it official here at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. There were butterflies in the air and the weather was perfect! A handful, and then some of Chris’ and Tiffanys’ family and friends all made their way to the Elvis Chapel to witness their marriage.

With a license to ride and a marriage license in hand, Chris said “I Do” to his lovely Bride Tiffany. They had so many friends and family here to share in their joy. I am certain that once they announced that the wedding would be in Las Vegas, that no one could resist. The RSVP’s were many.They were surrounded by so much love. Chris and Tiffany really did remind me of Elvis and Priscilla. Mind you, Elvis really was a blonde. What a great looking couple! Wishing you both every bit of happiness you can stand! They topped their night off by riding off into the night to Larrys Hideway here in Las Vegas. Do you suppose they had Breakfast at Tiffanys the next morning? Just another classic Elvis wedding here at The Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. Thanks to you both, and your super family and friends. It seemed fitting that on the August 16th departure anniversary of Elvis Presley, Natalie and Sameer chose a “Dead Elvis Wedding” in August. So,who doesn’t miss Elvis? What a way to bring him back…In the wedding, Elvis really comes to life. He’s alive, he’s alive! Having the wedding in Las Vegas was a dream come true for the Mother of the Bride also~ Our Liz Taylor mother look alike had always dreamed of coming to Las Vegas. She really did look like Liz Taylor! It too, was a dream come true and a special day for her. Thank you all for the fun fright night. Until next week. The Finnishing Touch...

They are accompanied by a few of their dear friends and there daughter. Their daughter Sophia, was just cute as a bug and so sweet. A little princess indeed.

1. Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton

Then controversial movie star Angelina Jolie married her just as eccentric boyfriend Billy Bob Thornton in a casual blue jeans ceremony at the Little Church of the West. Though rumors about their odd behavior were in abundance (including wearing vials of blood), most proved to be false. Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last, but both parties went on to have very successful film careers.

2. Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow

Two huge names in their time, Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow, came together in 1966 when they married at The Sands, Frank’s home away from home in Las Vegas. As she was only 21 and he was 50, it was seen as a somewhat controversial May-December marriage. The end came when Farrow refused to quit Rosemary’s Baby to work on one of Sinatra’s films, so he served her with papers while she was on set!

3. Kevin Dillon and Jane Stuart

If you think everyday folks are the only ones interested in Elvis impersonators, then think again! Back in 2006, Entourage star Kevin Dillon married fiancée Jane Stuart with their own Elvis crooning them into wedded bliss! Dillon’s Entourage cast and crewmates were present for the ceremony, and the couple now has a little girl, Ava.

4. Kirk Douglas and Ann Buydens

Another old school Hollywood couple, but this time with a happier ending! Mega-star Kirk Douglas took time off playing gladiators and other heroes to marry beautiful Parisian Anne Buydens in a whirlwind wedding while she was in the States doing publicity work for one of his movies. Kirk’s publicist Warren Cowan was the best man at the little ceremony. The couple is still happily married to this day.

5. Elvis Presley and Priscilla Anne Beaulieu

Does this count as the first Elvis themed wedding? Of course our favorite son of the South makes the list! The famous couple flew into Las Vegas in the middle of the night and married at the Aladdin Hotel at nine in the morning! Guests were then ushered down below the casino into a banquet room for the reception. Their daughter, Lisa Marie, was born in 1968. She is most famous for marrying pop star Michael Jackson…but not in Las Vegas!

1. Rocky Horror Picture Show

When this little film was unleashed on unsuspecting audiences back in 1975, it was so bizarre nobody knew how to react! Luckily, the midnight movie crowd got a hold of it, and the movie now enjoys weekly showings and reenactments across the country.

Known for the outlandish characters, huge dance numbers, and memorable songs, Rocky Horror has become a staple of Halloween nights everywhere. At Viva, we honor this fabulous film with a Rocky’s Horror wedding package that includes all your favorite characters and even a dance number to the “Time Warp!”

2. Phantom of the Opera

Yeah, most people are now familiar with the musical version, falling chandelier and all. But horror and film buffs know that the first version is the silent film from 1925! Adapted from the Gaston Leroux novel of the same name, Phantom of the Opera has been chilling audiences with Lon Chaney’s spooky performance for decades.

We love it for the atmosphere, the music, the mystique and of course, the Phantom! At Viva Las Vegas, he performs the Phantom wedding ceremony while Christine serenades from afar. It’s a wedding that will surely be there inside your mind for eternity.

3. Star Trek

Now for one not so spooky! Our Intergalactic themed wedding comes from an obvious source, Star Trek! Of course first known to audiences from the classic TV show, the movies reached a whole new audience, especially with the film Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan!

Our Intergalactic wedding theme has a mix of all the TV shows and movies, with Captain Quirk, outfits from The Next Generation, and even our take on The Borg! KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNN!!!

4. Dracula

No Halloween package would be complete without the king of the vampires, Count Dracula! If you haven’t seen them, check out the Hammer series of Dracula movies, particularly Horror of Dracula. Old friends Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee made quite a few films together during this period, and their respective Van Helsing and Dracula portrayals are among their best.

For our Dracula themed wedding package, you and your undead betrothed experience matrimony with appropriate music, décor, and of course, Dracula himself officiating!

5. Thriller

It may be a short film, but a film nonetheless! The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, outdid himself with the help of John Landis when they made the Thriller music video in 1983. It was more than just another video, it was an event! You’d be hard pressed to find anyone that doesn’t know at least some of the Thriller dance, and the song is heard almost every day in October!

The Thriller wedding package includes your own Michael Jackson impersonator who not only officiates the wedding, but sings some of your favorite MJ songs.

Anyway, the tradition goes back even farther than you would imagine. But instead of tying them to the car, old shoes and other items were used to pelt the bride with on her big day! And I bet you’ll never guess why…

That’s right, to increase the chances of a big family. In ancient times, feet were considered a powerful phallic symbol. In certain cultures, if a woman was experiencing difficulty conceiving, she was instructed to carry a piece of an old shoe with her to help out!

So while the tradition today is for fun, in old times it was serious business! Of course, not wanting to lose their expensive footwear, old shoes were tossed at the happy couple, resulting in the tradition today.

Also, in some cultures it was tradition to throw wheat and rice, resulting in the other wedding tradition of today where we throw rice (well, bird seed, because rice is supposed to be dangerous to birds) at the newlyweds while they walk to their fancily decorated car.

So from one baby influenced tradition spawned two seemingly random events everyone loves at a wedding, even Las Vegas weddings!

Of course, it’s somewhat ironic, with the emphasis we put on contraception and waiting to have kids these days, that there are two traditions that place emphasis on having a lot of children. Especially since a recent tradition seems to be putting condoms on the car instead of balloons!

1. Shag Carpet on the Ceiling

If you’ve ever been to his house in Graceland, you know what we’re talking about. If not, it is simply something to be experienced. In several rooms of his gigantic mansion in Memphis, not only is there shag carpet all over the floor, he had it installed on the freaking ceiling!

Luckily, Elvis never found out that shag carpet went out of style, and it’s there to always be remembered for anyone taking the pilgrimage out to Tennessee.

2. The Elvis Sandwich

Bananas. Peanut butter. Bacon. Three great tastes that no one had ever thought of before Elvis came along and introduced it to the world. Now, people around the world have tried and fallen in love with the absolutely ridiculous sandwich aptly named “The Elvis.”

Yeah, it ended up killing Elvis, but he was notorious for eating them every day. As with all decadence, enjoy in moderation, folks!

3. Rhinestone Jumpsuit

Come on, who else could actually pull this off? Rhinestones were a staple of the country music world for a while, but only Elvis could make it part of his mythos.

Not only did he pull off a rhinestone encrusted jumpsuit, he also wore a cape! If you’re not a Baron or a superhero, you absolutely should not be allowed to wear a cape. But Elvis somehow managed to just make it work.

4. He Changed Music

Back when he was just getting started out, Elvis made a seemingly innocuous appearance on the Milton Berle show. He and his band performed a song first recorded by Willie Mae Thornton in 1952, called “Hound Dog,” much in the same way he had been performing for years before, by sashaying and swaying his hips to the music.

He had no way of knowing the world would explode! Parents everywhere lost their minds, while teenage girls’ hearts practically thumped out of their chests. He was dubbed “Elvis the Pelvis” and protests were heard in town halls everywhere. Unfortunately for the offended, the face (and hips) of music was instantly changed forever.

5. He Started His Car by Shooting it!

Elvis bought a 1971 De Tomaso Pantera for his girlfriend Linda Thompson but often drove it himself. Unfortunately, the engine was kind of a dud. When the car broke down, stranding him in the middle of Memphis, Elvis had about had enough. He had the car towed back to Graceland where it still wouldn’t start. While regaling the story to his friend George Klein, Elvis took out a gun and shot the car…and it started!

An avid collector of guns and other memorabilia, Elvis would go on to blow even more holes into the poor car. Luckily someone bought it after his death and had it fixed up, but the memory of Elvis’ eccentricity lives on forever with stories like this.

What’s your favorite thing about Elvis that confirms his King status on his 75th birthday?

#1 definitely has to go to the happy couple. The reason we’re in this business in the first place isn’t just to say we hang out with Elvis (though that’s up there!), it’s because we love seeing and making people happy. The many beaming faces that leave through our doors is the best reward.

     The show is called Resto Del Mundo ( the rest of the world ).They broadcast in Chile’, Argentina, Uraguay, Paraguay and Brazil. From my understanding, they are muy popular. Oh boy, how will I explain this to my husband? Oh yes, I said it~ I’m married. I will be serenaded by Elvis and on T.V.! I always wanted to be an actress! The Pink Caddy Weddings are my favorite!!! Everyone that has one, comes out with a smile from ear to ear ( because it’s so cool ):) The excitement level of their guests always elevates to a crescendo! I’m so ready to do this now. Oh what fun.
