Let’s see ladies, now here is where we can be honest and perhaps float a couple of fantastic wedding proposal ideas out there for the fellas. We have all seen the classic ring in the champagne flute in the movies, the ring on top of her dessert and the classic jumbo sports screen proposal. My friend John dressed in shining armour and rode down the street ( in the city) on horseback to propose to his fiancee’ Kelly-now that was a proposal!

 I had a friend who says hers was a disaster, her guy had, “will you marry me?” written out in tomato sauce, on a large heart shaped pizza. Pizza? Really?

Ohhhh, about a month ago, I did have a couple that went up to the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel here in Las Vegas for a surprise proposal.  The couple married the next day- as our astute Groom was one step ahead, and had already booked a beautiful outdoor garden wedding.Why he evev had friends and family flown in as a surprise to his lovely Bride, for their special Las Vegas Wedding. That too was a hit.

The proposal is such a small part of your happily ever after. However, with that in mind, share with us your romantic proposal or someone elses that was so sweet you had to mention it. You may be helping some lost romantic out there that just needs a liitle help for their personal proposal~ I am dying to hear your marriage proposal stories…

To elope or not elope that is the question? So, here it is, you’re newly engaged, and you are getting ready to begin the wedding planning…

You begin with the invitation list. Who to invite, and who not to invite. Hmmmm.

You have a budget to stay within, so do you invite your mothers cousin that you have only met twice, but your mother keeps in touch with ( via a Christmas card every year)? Well, we’ll come back to that question…

Let’s see, you loooove Gardenias but they are $15 a bloom! So you settle for ? Okay, we’ll get back to that question too.

Alright, you have always wanted to get married at the Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes ever since you were a little girl..the cost? $3000 for the wedding/venue ( no extras-here).

You want to keep the wedding small and stay within your budget , but it is slowly getting out of hand, with family that expects to be invited, friends that are anticipating your invitiaton in the mail, co-workers and your boss. Arghhh. OH NO! The wedding invitations? I’ve already pretty much blown my budget and the hits keep on coming.

Family is fighting over who gets invited, you want to keep your new in-laws happy and cannot say no to their guest list, and it’s enormous. You and your Fiance’ are now fighting due to all of the stress. Sooooooo I ask..Is it all worth it?

As for me, I say I’ll take that $3000 and give me an E- L-O, a P, and an E ~ Ha! Eloping was definatley for me. A small Chapel wedding was the key to happiness for me and my Mister right when we did tie the knot. We had a super ceremony, and just a handful of family and friends ( 7 to be exact),  and it was just perfect.

So, I pose the question…TO ELOPE OR NOT TO ELOPE?

Johan said it was Leonie’s birthday and she had always dreamed of coming to Las Vegas and having an Elvis wedding. So Johan made Leonies birthday wish come true. What a guy! Johan and Leonie have been married for 27 years and have five (one for each finger) grown sons. Well, that certainly beats “My Three Sons” the television show. What a loving couple they were. Johan said it’s their time now, and they really seem to be living it up. I asked Johan for a marriage tip on how to make it to 27 years.This is something I love asking of Vow Renewal couples I chauffeur. Hey, I need all of the help I can get…I’m working my way towards a blissful 4 myself.

His answer was short but very sweet, he said-”honest true love.” I about melted. It was true, I could see it in both of their eyes from the moment I met them. Leonie said “work at it too.” Boy, I felt as if I had just received a wealth of critical information in just a few beautiful words. Leonie did say,” you endure the salt together too!” Makes me hungry for more, I say pass the salt aaaand the pepper if this is what I look forward to having in my golden years. Our Soldier was here on furlough to marry his Sweetheart, and his unit back in Iraq was able to view his Wedding via our live web cam! This is the type of warm fuzzy I just look up and say thanks for! Technology is certainly an amazing feat. Everytime a Soldier walks through our doors I just quietly think to myself, we are so lucky to be able to serve them in some small way. It never feels like we can ever give back enough, but it certainly is an honor.

Let’s see, where do I begin, to tell a story of how great a love can be? A sweet love story, is this weeks couple of the week.  It’s an Officer who was a gentleman. Rick has been serving our country in the United States Navy since 1982. You are a patriot Rick. His lovely Bride is Sandy. What a gal, she too is quite the catch. Sandy looked absolutely radiant on her wedding day. When Sandy met Rick, it was love at first sight. She commented to me that she told her sister that day, ” I am going to marry that guy,”  and so the love story began. I could feel their love from across the stretch limousine~ Moments like this are just best, when they can be shared. Thanks for sharing with us… Rick & Sandy you are my “Bride Pick of the Week, ” because you made my day too. Many blessings to both of you this Christmas and throughout the New Year.

     Thanks to the Concierge at the City Center for her recommendation. Our local Concierge even attended the wedding since they had become friends through their chats online. This is how friendships are made. I  just had to share this unique story~besides that, how gorgeous is Clare with her Prince Arron by her side? Best wishes to you and cheers to you both on making my Bridal couple for the month of November. You look marrrvelous!

     Now, with all of that planning…I wonder if Clare knew how terrific our weather was going to be? The high 70′s in November? Why it’s unheard of. However, this brilliant Concierge really did her homework, I am certain she was checking the weather report daily. Lucky guy, lucky gal. They chose the Gazebo Evening Wedding. Italian Cypress and nature surround this lovely Gazebo.Complete with twinkly lights and park style benches, it makes an intimate setting for two, or even fifteen, just lovely. Seeing the Gazebo in person is breathtaking. It is one of my favorite marrying spots because the photography is spectacular in this magical setting.

Viva Las Vegas Weddings is closed for the night. Good night Kalin, good night Jamie, good night John boy. It’s eleven o’clock and we all zoom out of the parking lot. I am in my car, when suddenly I recall…what I forgot. Ughhhhhh, so I make my way back into the Chapel past the prop room towards the employees lounge. I forgot my once heated lasagne in the midst of being soo busy. I figure it will be a quick turnaround, so I won’t even turn on the lights.

          I will just…..Whoa! What was that? A loud thump, and it’s coming from the direction of the closet. Thaaat closet! The one that hasn’t been opened for about a year. The one that no ones keys seem to fit anymore. It’s so dark I can’t even see my hand before me. Now, I could actually hear the wind howling loudly, as thaaat door begins to slowly open. I make an about face, and begin to tip-toe through the grave stones and realize I cannot run fast enough without falling, so I decide to hide. I lean on a wall, in an attempt to make myself small,  (not so easy for me, I’m a size 10).  The door is oooopening and and I’m all alone. I am frozen in fear. I can now make out a shadowy figure lurking through the door.

          The door suddenly swings open fast and I let out a BIG …..Reverend Daphne? Reverend Daphne, what are you doing here? She says, “Oh, I was fishing out my cloak and green makeup for Halloween.” “You do realize Halloween is only a few weeks away?” I let out a sigh of relief, as I think to myself, we really do have CREEPY MINISTERS.

          10-10-10 symbolizes the union of two individuals and the start of their living together in holy matrimony. Or is it that the Grooms have figured out a way to make their significant others happy in two ways? Number one; it will make it impossible to forget their anniversary. Number two; they make their Bride happy by choosing a date. “Brilliant fellas!” Either way, it will be a day to remember for all. The score is love; love so I give it a “Perfect 10.” What will you be doing on 10-10-10 at 10 minutes after 10?

Elvis is the host of a Dead Mans Wedding. Who’s the dead man? Why, none other than Elvis Presley. It seemed fitting that on the August 16th departure anniversary of Elvis Presley, Natalie and Sameer chose a “Dead Elvis Wedding” in August. So,who doesn’t miss Elvis? What a way to bring him back…In the wedding, Elvis really comes to life. He’s alive, he’s alive! So being from New York, all of Natalie and Sameers friends were able to watch the Wedding via our live webcast. ”Live from New York”, “It’s the Dead Elvis Wedding of Natalie and Sameer”. Having the wedding in Las Vegas was a dream come true for the Mother of the Bride also~ Our Liz Taylor mother look alike had always dreamed of coming to Las Vegas. She really did look like Liz Taylor! It too, was a dream come true and a special day for her. Thank you all for the fun fright night. Until next week. A royal wedding looks quite different. First of all, the male and female attendants are almost never equally apportioned and are even less frequently matched up like blind dates to escort each other awkwardly up the aisle. The groom usually has one or sometimes two “supporters” who walk in with him (but are almost never dressed like him). His supporter is usually a brother or, less often, a good friend. In 2010, a tuxedo-ed Daniel Westling was supported by his soon-to-be brother-in-law Prince Carl Philipp of Sweden in a naval uniform. At the Wedding of the (last) Century, Prince Charles had both of his younger brothers—Prince Andrew in a naval uniform and Prince Edward in a gray morning suit.

A few royal brides draw bridesmaids from among sisters and friends, but it is much more common for all of their bridesmaids to be very young. In fact, there may be no adults in the bride’s party at all. Sometimes, a teenage girl may be the chief bridesmaid as Prince Charles’ cousins Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones and India Hicks (yes, the now famous designer!) were for Princess Diana in 1981. Then, at least two little boys are added, although they are generally called pageboys instead of ring bearers. A four-year-old Prince William was one of four pageboys when Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson in 1986.

The children are usually close relatives or godchildren of the bride or groom. At Daniel Westling’s marriage to Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, three tiny future monarchs—all of them her godchildren—were in her party: Prince Christian of Denmark, Princess Catharina Amalia of the Netherlands and Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway.

Amazingly, these children are fairly well-behaved. Although the media had speculated in 1986 that a rambunctious Prince William might run wildly around Westminster Abbey, he only made a few faces and played with his hat. In 2004, Prince Felipe of Spain’s nephew Froilan shouted, “Hola Felipe!” when the groom entered the church. No screaming tantrums or refusals to walk the aisle.

Sometimes, these youngsters are dressed, like their American counterparts, in child-appropriate versions of the adult’s outfits but this is rarely the case. For little boys, the designer (and bride, of course!) often look to military attire or national costumes for inspiration. Royal wedding photos are full of little boys in sailor suits and kilts. Meanwhile, national costume or traditional party frocks are frequently used for the girls. Royal brides with a real taste for history, sometimes draw ideas from the past. Sophie Rhys-Jones dressed her young attendants in dark blue velvet capes and hats, like those worn by the Knights of the Garter, when she married Prince Edward in 1999 and Letizia Ortiz-Rocasolano channeled the 17th-Century master painter Goya for her bridal party when she married the future King of Spain in 2004.

So, if you truly want a princess wedding (even a Las Vegas princess wedding), you should start figuring out which of nieces and nephews don’t mind being dressed like a 400-year-old painting. Of course, there are drawbacks: a six-year-old bridesmaid would probably throw you a Dora the Explorer bridal shower and your eight-year-old nephew should definitely be kept away from the stag party!

      More Pirates arrive and we are set to sail. It is a managerie of hooks, swords and mustaches. Nice job with the mustaches guys. The Captain leads them into the swinging Chapel and they begin to troll ( stroll ) into the rocky high seas of holy matrimony. Becky caught herself one of the BIGGEST FISH in the high seas of the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel ocean. Why, we didn’t even know that Becky could fish? However, I am sure Mike will argue that he REELED her in first. I hear he’s quite the fisherman!
