Breaking News for Elvis and Elvis Wedding Fans from Las Vegas!

Outdoor Elvis wedding
Elvis finally gets a street named for him in Las Vegas, land of Elvis and Elvis weddings! Check out the blue suede shoes!

Did you know that Las Vegas officially named a street after the King of Rock ‘n Roll? Elvis Presley Boulevard (formerly Riviera Boulevard) runs from the Las Vegas Strip to Paradise Road near the Las Vegas Convention Center. It’s just four-tenths of a mile long and the name change was suggested by the Westgate Hotel, formerly the Las Vegas Hilton, and the International before that. The International Hotel was the home of Elvisโ€™s celebrated Las Vegas residency from the late 1960s to the early 1970s.

Clark County approved the name change in May of 2015, but the new signs were only recently installed. Here’s video:

For you hard-core Elvis fans planning an Elvis wedding or vow renewal with us at Viva Las Vegas Weddings, the new street is just down the Strip from our chapel. You can even arrange to stay at the Westgate. which is slightly off the Strip but close to all the action, and mid-way between Strip resorts and downtown resorts. Best of all, you can take take a selfie with the Elvis commemorative statue in the lobby!

Remember, if you still want a Traditional Wedding ceremony in Las Vegas with a “regular” minister, there’s no reason you can’t add Elvis to sing a song or two during the wedding! Or have Elvis escort the bride down the aisle as he sings. We can customize any wedding to make it as traditional or kitschy as you like. All of our weddings include the ultimate photo-op of your picture in front of your names in lights on the marquee in front of the chapel, facing Las Vegas Boulevard! Chapel co-owner Jamie as Brad in our Rocky’s Horror Themed Wedding

As a fun and memorable year comes to a close, we at Viva Las Vegas Weddings want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and all the best ahead in the New Year. In case you didn’t get to meet all of our staff members personally on your wedding day, here are a few faces to put together with names and telephone voices. We can’t picture everyone here–all the Elvi, ministers, florists, singers, dancers and tribute artists who appear in our traditional, themed and Elvis weddings. But here are some of the friendly faces that help make up Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel!

Elvis wedding Las Vegas
Michael as Elvis

You may have been wed by Elvis’s Michael, Roland, or Ron. They are the busiest of our Viva Elvi!

Rocky's Horror is our most outrageous spoof of a wedding. You'll be dancing the Time Warp in the aisles with a kooky cast of characters!
Photographer Millie does double duty as Magenta in the Rocky’s Horror Themed Wedding.

Some of our photographers also play roles in the themed weddings. Millie, Kalin and Jamie take part in multiple roles. Kalin, for example, has played Darth Vader, a pirate, a Bluez Brother, Inspector Clueless, a Beatle AND Beetlejuice, plus a starship captain, among many other characters.

Wedding staffer and makeup artist, Blaze---Don't burn the turkey, hon!

Wedding coordinator extraordinaire and sometimes devil, Blaze, is also a makeup artist.

Photographer and sometime Captain Jack, Kalin, and his staff “wench” Ramona!
Rev. Daphne Las Vegas minister

Revered Daphne is often seen presiding over our Garden and Gazebo weddings, but she’s been known to play a character or two for our themed weddings. Here she is strutting her stuff for a Harley Davidson Wedding.

Vegas Tribute Artists
Wedding staffer Ramona with “Jerry” and “Dean” next door at our Ron Decar’s Event Center

Ramona frequently takes your call, and does double duty at our Ron Decar’s Event Center for receptions. She also portrays “M” in our James Bond 007 themed weddings!

Vegas Wedding Specials
Our very own wedding coordinator Justyna is always happy to take your calls and questions!

Justyna handles hundreds of phone questions every day and runs couples through their paces in a mini-rehearsal before the wedding ceremony. Don’t tell, but she likes to be teased. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Back to the Future Wedding
Chapel owner Ron plays more roles around the place than anyone else! Elvis, Doc, Phantom of the Opera, Gomez Addams, Grim Reaper, Darth Vader, King Tut, James Bond…you name it!

Zombie Elvis Wedding
Roland as Zombie Elvis

Roland is a popular Elvis at our place, but he’s also disguised as many other “ministers” from crooning cowboy to Austin Powers!

Which Elvis Married YOU at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel?

Elvis Weddings Vegas
Chapel owner Ron Decar has been marrying couples as Elvis in Las Vegas for more than 20 years!

Not everyone gets married by Elvis at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, although most do! Our Traditional and Themed weddings are nearly as popular, although Elvis seems to be the real draw at our chapel. We thought we’d take the time to introduce you to some of our “Elvi”—If you’ve married here or renewed your vows in the last few years, one of these faces may be familiar!

Chapel owner Ron Decar (above) does a pretty mean Elvis, but he’s also a licensed minister. (He’ll appear in a very different suit when he marries traditional wedding couples.) For our themed wedding packages, you may have seen Ron as James Bond, Austin Powers, Dracula, Zombie Elvis, The Godfather, Merlin, Darth Vader,Gomez Addams…the list goes on and on. Ron has a very fun, and VERY busy life! For many years Ron appeared at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas as lead singer in the Folies Bergere, also enjoying a notable national singing career…before he was Elvis…or Reverend Ron!

Elvis wedding chapel
Roland August lends a lot of energy and warmth to his Elvis weddings here at Viva Las Vegas Chapel!

Roland August (above) might be described as our most enthusiastic Elvis. If he is/was YOUR Elvis, you’ll remember him always for making you feel comfortable and going out of his way to personalize your ceremony and make it feel special. Roland, too, had a spectacular singing career before he was bitten by the Elvis bug in Vegas! Roland sometimes makes an appearance as a “hunky dude” in our Egyptian, Western or Beach Party themed weddings.

Outdoor Elvis wedding
Michael Conti brings The King to life in our indoor AND outdoor Evlis weddings!

Michael Conti (above) hails from Texas. He was having a “normal” career as a singer when someone told him he sounded like Elvis…and kinda looked like him, too. It may come as no surprise that many Elvis’s in Vegas wound up here because they were told the very same thing. And none of them would give it up for anything. Believe us when we say, marrying folks as Elvis is the BEST job ever! Michael is also featured in our Bluez Brothers and Rock’n Roll Themed Weddings.

mini elvis in vegas
Mini-Elvis is not in our “regular rotation” of Elvi, but we can special order for a unique take on an Elvis Wedding in Vegas!

Mini-Elvis is not on our staff, but he can be called in to do the honors as an upgrade if you’re looking for a REALLY unique Elvis Wedding. For more information on any of our Elvis Wedding Packages, give us a call at 702-384-0771 or visit us and chat online at www.vivalasvegasweddings.com !

July 4th Weddings in Las Vegas–Traditional Fireworks or Sparkle with Elvis!

4th of July Elvis wedding
A 4th of July wedding with Elvis in Vegas is guaranteed to sizzle!

Time to book your 4th of July Wedding Special if you’re coming to Las Vegas for an Independence Day wedding! We have packages starting at $225 that include your basic flowers and photography and even Elvis as minister! You can also choose a traditional wedding ceremony. (Mmmmmm….we’ve got a large number of red white and blue sequined vests back in our costume shop….) You can be as patriotic as you like at your July 4th wedding or wedding vow renewal ceremony.

Choose from a cool indoor ceremony in our Main Chapel or in our sassy 50’s retro Doo-Wop Diner. You also can book an outdoor summer wedding with us. They are more popular than you would think, with typical Las Vegas temperatures being what they are in July! Still, our Garden and Gazebo chapels are sheltered from the sun by lush greenery and a canopy of cooling mist. They’re perfect for a nighttime wedding under the stars, too. (Or under the fireworks!)

Outdoor Vegas wedding
A Gazebo Wedding under romantic twinkling lights creates summer wedding memories!

Call us for details. Due to the gigantic fireworks displays on the Strip at 9pm, there may be some restrictions you’ll want to know about as far as transportation, parking and the like. We’ll navigate you through an exciting 4th of July wedding day, though. When you call to book, ask us about ways you can customize your 4th of July wedding—red white and blue flowers or ribbons? Special patriotic recessional music? Let us know and we’ll see what we can do!

What to Expect When You Renew Your Wedding Vows with Elvis

Elvis vows in Vegas
Lee marries Lee all over again with The King!

Just a little shy of their 30th anniversary, Lee and Lee (no wonder they seemed like two peas in a pod!) renewed wedding vows with Elvis this week. What was remarkable to us, though, is that they seemed just as much in love as any couple getting married for the first time. Here’s what they had to say about their event on their Viva Las Vegas wedding website:

“Hey friends! You know we’ve always marched to our own drum and that’s often off of the beaten path. So it is with our wedding vow renewal. While we had thought about doing this on our 30th anniversary, the opportunity presented itself this year and it’s close enough to August 9th, in our opinion. Together we’ve made it this far and what better way to celebrate than to have a not real wedding in the town of not real stuff with the officiant not a real Elvis? This craziness is precisely what makes us so good together.”

Wedding chapel vow renewal
Stroll down the aisle together, have Elvis escort the bride, or let your bride make her own entrance like your first wedding!

We’d have to say, we agree. They WERE great together, dancing in a tight embrace while Elvis sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The best part about a wedding vow renewal with Elvis? Come as you are! Or, wear your original wedding duds, if they still fit. When it’s your second wedding, you can do things your own way. You can even book an Elvis Blue Hawaii themed wedding and wear Hawaiian shirts and sarongs, if you like!

80's wedding vow renewal
Lee and Lee at their first wedding, way back in 1986

Whether you come to the chapel, just the two of you, to renew vows with Elvis, or whether you bring along a ton of friends and family, or even if you spring a surprise wedding vow renewal on your spouse for an anniversary present, you are sure to have the most memorable fun since your first wedding! Choose from our simplest Elvis wedding package, like a ceremony in our 50’s Doo Wop Diner with Elvis singing two songs, or order up the incomparable Elvis Pink Caddy Wedding where The King drives you right down the aisle. Whatever Elvis wedding you choose, you won’t soon forget the time you said “I Do” all over again in Vegas. For more info and choices for your Las Vegas wedding vow renewal, visit us at www.vivalasvegasweddings.com !

All our best wishes go out to Lee and Lee for a wonderful anniversary. It would be okay with us if we see you again next year to do it all over for the “real” 30th! ๐Ÿ™‚

Renewing Wedding Vows with a Whole Family of Elvises

lil and dave renew vows with elvis
Make it a family affair when renewing your wedding vows in Vegas with Elvis!

On your 10th anniversary, you want to celebrate the wonderful milestone in your marriage, and a trip to Las Vegas fills the bill! Lil and Dave from So. California celebrated their own 10th anniversary last week by renewing their vows with Elvis in our Viva Las Vegas Weddings Main Chapel. This fun-loving bunch took it a step farther, though. Dave and their six-and-seven-year-old sons dressed at Elvis, too. That’s a LOT of white jumpsuit!

The family brought a bevy of Hawaiian-shirted friends and family for their Elvis Blue Hawaii ceremony, our most popular wedding package for not only renewals, but for first weddings, too.

Zombie Elvis wedding
Our seasonal special- request Zombie Elvis brings in a lot of bride and groom zombies–and a lot of zombie guests. Kinda goes without saying.

Don’t look good in a jumpsuit? Hey, it’s October, and we’re doing a LOT of Gothic and graveyard themed weddings with Dracula, Grim Reaper all month long. But, our latest craze is the Zombie Elvis as minister, and your zombie Halloween costume can double as wedding duds at this time of year. (We’ve had some gorgeous zombie brides, believe it or not, dangling brains and all!)

Your Zombie Elvis or “regular” Elvis can perform your ceremony, indoors or out. ( October is THE most glorious weather month in Vegas for an Outdoor Gazebo or Garden wedding.) At Viva Las Vegas, we love to offer fun choices that inspire you to add your own special touches. Dress up the whole family and come celebrate your anniversary with us! Best wishes for many more years of happiness to Lil and Dave and family! See you in another 10!
