Saturday Night Disco Themed Wedding in Las Vegas!

Disco wedding Vegas
Boogie down the aisle with your Disco-themed wedding or vow renewal ceremony!

For couples who share a fondness for all things disco and 1970s–or even if you just love John Travolta, here’s a unique Las Vegas wedding package that has all the right moves! Our Disco Wedding Package has smoke and theatrical lighting effects, disco sounds, and a white-suited minister with a bit of New York City ’70s swag.

Bring your retro wedding duds, or rent costumes at our onsite costume shop. And, tell your guests to do the same. After all, they’ll be wanting to get up and dance in the aisles right along with you after the vows are said. Some brides and grooms, though, choose to go traditional instead. It’s perfectly fine to just let the minister and the atmosphere create the mood. How to Add Pizazz to a Camelot Themed Wedding in Vegas? Invite ELVIS!

Camelot Wedding Vegas
Merlin performs the ceremony at the Camelot Themed Wedding, as Knights of the Round Table stand in waiting.

Only at Viva Las Vegas Weddings can you choose to marry in a setting reminiscent of Camelot and the days of King Arthur! Merlin the Magician will be your minister, or, another option is to request King Arthur or Lady Guinevere to perform the ceremony for you. Regal music, smoke, costumes and pageantry surround you as you say your vows of holy wedlock. Period dress is always optional, but can be super fun–especially if your guests dress up, too.

This week, one dashing couple surprised onlookers with a surprise appearance of Elvis at the end of their “I Do-eth’s! (As they say, only in Vegas!) This was THE KING no one had been expecting. And imagine how folks watching online reacted to this happy ending to the celebration of the wedding of Matthew and Micah!

Elvis Camelot Wedding Vegas
A still from our live streaming action—Elvis joins Merlin for a round of “Viva Las Vegas!”

This wasn’t the first time we’ve customized a Camelot Themed Wedding, either. With a little Hollywood-style magic, Merlin can magically turn himself into Dumbledore for a Harry Potter-ish wedding. Below, Merlin is seen with a Snape impersonator, presiding over the vows of Benjamin (dressed as Darth Vader, of course) and his fair Regina. “Dumbledore”oversaw the rites of (holy-smokes) warwedlock, while Snape kept the oddly-garbed Muggle-born guests at wand’s length. The whole affair was rather odd and topsy-turvy. This sort of thing is all in a day’s work (and wizardry) for the staff at Viva Las Vegas Weddings.

The wedding guests were obviously under some sort of spell for the occasion. We’re not sure if they had the better time, or we did. Attendees came dressed as different movie franchise characters, as you can see in the video clip below. Mixing and matching fantasies at your wedding can be half the fun. We’ll customize any of our themed wedding packages to include whatever zaniness you have in mind!

Fans of Game of Thrones? Within our Camelot-style set, choose a famous or infamous character to act as “minister” and we’ll do our best to create your custom wedding. Tears of laughter may be shed, but, no blood, thank goodness. (Unless you book for Halloween, naturally. And…gulp…there will likely be an upcharge for special effects and clean up! 😉 )

A Beach Party Wedding in Vegas? Break Out the Hawaiian Shirts!

Beach Party Wedding Vegas
All the fun of a beach wedding, but no sand in your shorts!

Summer at Viva Las Vegas Weddings means a lot of Hawaiian shirts, sandals, and many of our popular Elvis Blue Hawaii and Beach Party themed weddings. (Bare feet are okay, too!) We’ve got the palm trees, ocean mist, and all the scenic props for a fun-filled ceremony reminiscent of summers past. Pictured here is our Beach Party wedding, which can be officiated by your choice of Surfer Dude, Elvis, Stoned Hippie, or wacky Reverend Rainbow as “minister.”

The Beach Party wedding includes your favorite Beach Boys tunes, flowers, photography and DVD, round-trip limousine service and your names in lights out on our marquee on the Las Vegas Strip after the ceremony! (Guests will want to bring beach togs and Hawaiian shirts as well as their cameras to capture that picturesque moment when you exit the chapel through the doors just below the sign!)

Brides can choose to be carried down the aisle on a surfboard by our hunky surfer dudes, or some couples prefer to be escorted by them as they walk to the altar together. White bikinis and veils are always an option for this wedding! For couples celebrating an anniversary, this makes a casually memorable way to renew your vows in front of family and friends, in person, or watching online!

Just let us know your preferences and we will customize the package as you choose from a Pharaoh, Gladiator or Centurion for your wedding officiant. Your Cecil B. A Day in the Life of the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel

Rocky HOrror Wedding Vegas
Another day, another Time Warp at Viva Las Vegas Weddings! Photo Credit: Las Vegas Review-Journal

On a recent Saturday, the local newspaper, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, hung out with us to document a typical day at Viva Las Vegas Weddings. While we had several elegantly traditional weddings going on that day, it’s easy to see why our wild and wacky Themed Weddings got the photographer’s attention most of the time! It’s pretty amazing just to be a guest witnessing ONE of our themed ceremonies, but a whole day of them–with all the costume and set changes involved– can mean sensory overload for those who aren’t used to it!

Here’s a link to the full article, if you’d like to read the RJ’s take on things and see all the great photos they shot while visiting the chapel: https://www.reviewjournal.com/life/las-vegas-chapel-does-rocky-horror-star-trek-elvis-weddings-video/

Elvis pink Caddy Wedding

If you’d like just a taste of some lesser-known facts included in the story on our chapel, here’s an excerpt from the article, below:

(Ron) DeCar opened the chapel in 1999 after 14 years as lead singer and emcee in “Folies Bergere” at the Tropicana. He says the chapel typically hosts about 300 weddings a month. Its record is 550 in a month. On 7/7/07, 150 couples got hitched, and 230 on 11/11/11.
Just over half of all weddings at Viva Las Vegas are traditional. And the theme weddings? “I think it’s people who are, obviously, more lighthearted and want to do something crazy and don’t want to have a mundane, normal thing,” DeCar says.
But the day isn’t all about fog machines, flashing lights and costumed characters. There are also couples such as Lee McCulloch and Stuart Dootson, who came to Las Vegas from England to get married. They’ve been together 17 years, and while nobody is there to see them marry, the chapel live-streams each ceremony for far-off family and friends.
At 4 p.m. comes an Elvis-themed wedding. And while an Elvis wedding probably never can be devoid of cheesiness — vows include promises “every day of my life to be a hunka hunka burning love” and that “I will never have suspicious minds” — watching the couple end the ceremony by dancing to “It’s Now or Never” is sort of adorable.
With his entertainment industry know-how and hefty contact list, DeCar can concoct just about any sort of ceremony. He once put on a Liberace ceremony that included a song by a Cher impersonator, and another time crafted a ceremony that included Mr. Spock from “Star Trek” teleporting into a Camelot theme.
With lights, music, smoke effects, actors and, most of all, the sense of showmanship that go into every ceremony, “every half hour is a performance,” DeCar says.

Many of the folks who come to us for one of our creative wedding themes are renewing their vows for an anniversary, so don’t be shy about calling to do this, too, if you’re already married! For more information, visit our website or call us at 702-384-0771. www.vivalasvegasweddings.com
