A lot of folks don’t know about our Viva Las Vegas Weddings costume rental shop right here on our chapel grounds. It comes in handy for our many Elvis and Themed weddings, for those brides and grooms who are more up for a fun adventure than for traditional wedding duds. Our MOST popular costumes for rental are the Elvis white jumpsuit and Marilyn Monroe’s white dress from The Seven Year Itch! We’re not exactly sure why, but “Elvis” and “Marilyn” tie the knot more frequently at Viva Las Vegas Weddings than any other couple! And, in case you’re having a multiple-couple wedding vow renewal, or in the event your guests want to dress up, too…we have a LOT of Elvis and Marilyn outfits to choose from!
The Costume Shop also has Medieval and Egyptian gear, ensembles for our 1950s, ’60s and ’70s Disco Weddings, science fiction/space-themed outfits and more–plus accessories and props galore for every era imaginable. For our traditional weddings, Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel also has a Tuxedo Rental Shop offering a host of sizes and contemporary styles. So, feel free to pack light when coming to Vegas for your Elvis, Themed or Traditional Wedding. Our rental shops and chapel are conveniently on the way to the Marriage License Bureau, too, if you want to try things on ahead of time, you can combine pre-wedding errands!

This summer, Italian travel bloggers Francesca and Roberto visited Las Vegas and took the opportunity to renew their wedding vows with Elvis at Viva Las Vegas Weddings! They told about their experiences at our wedding chapel and in Las Vegas on social media, and we’ve included their video coverage and a translation of their blog, below! The charming couple brought along their young son, then celebrated in a typically American way–at McDonald’s!–right after the ceremony! Have a look:
We are (re) married in Las Vegas today, with Elvis singing “Love me tender” and the church entrance on a Pink Cadillac. A ceremony attended by our baby, who was the most excited of everyone, and who saw us swap our promises and rings again (and then go celebrating in McDonald’s next door!). A dream born when, almost ten years ago, we swore eternal love on the top of the Empire State Building but also a circle to close. And we love the “Giotto” circles … 😉
“Welcome to the fabulous Las Vegas”. It welcomes you so, with these words written on a sign, the largest city in Nevada. And just this sign is probably one of the most photographed things in the city, an icon of a trip to Las Vegas, reproduced everywhere, on shirts, magnets and other thousands of souvenirs that of course can be purchased at The World’s Largest Gift Shop. Las Vegas, the “fabulous city”, but also a place where, in appearance, everything is possible. A “Land of Promises” that invites every year millions of visitors who choose to spend their stay there. And it does not matter if the Las Vegas holiday is in the style of unbridled luxury, sobriety or strolling on the Strip to observe what’s going on around it. There is a place for everyone in Las Vegas, a city where no one is excluded or feeling different: Strenuous players, young people in search of sballo, celibacy or bachelor party, couples in the process of crowning their dream of love or family noisy. Everyone finds a reason to go to Las Vegas and a dream to chase, for a few hours or for a few days.
We too came to town in the wake of a dream, lulled during our first trip to the United States. Las Vegas was the last stop with the home exchange before we started our Coast to Coast in the US in the camper and it was a vacation in the trip, a carefree stage to relax a bit, sure that in the morning we would have been waiting for us Usually blue sky, a swimming pool where we dive and the same hot sun over our heads. The city, incredible to say, has been relaxing for us, because visiting Las Vegas means having everything at your fingertips, at least once you get to the Strip without having to watch the clock to get around the things you see. The city never sleeps and there is time to do all that is to visit the Madame Tussauds Museum, go to the High Roller or sit at Bacchanal for a pantagruelike brunch. Because almost everything in Las Vegas is open “H 24” waiting for tourists to find the right time to go there without hesitation and stress.
Perhaps that’s why a trip to Las Vegas makes you understand what it’s like to take your time. Because if there is a city where we have been until now that embodies this popular way of telling America is just this, where everyone can feel king, at least for a day, with the world at hand (obviously in its version “in scale “) and provided you have a credit card in the wallet! 😉 “A huge Disneyland for adults,” as we defined the city on our arrival, to explain to our fifties how ever, just off the desert, there were castles like those of fairy tales. By the time we did, however, we did not go far. And now we can say, without fear of being denied, that one of the reasons why people organize a vacation in Las Vegas is just to get back kids and spend some days convinced that everything is possible, just as they did during their childhood.
Best wishes to Francesca and Roberto for much more happiness in the coming years. Come see us again one day, and thank you for sharing this special adventure with us!
Recently, Linda and Frank came all the way from Texas to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary (on the exact day and hour!) with an Elvis Blue Hawaii vow renewal at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. It was one of the most touching vow renewal ceremonies anyone here can remember. Tears were shed as Elvis crooned in the “ocean mist” and the wedding vows were exchanged. But, everyone got to their feet and danced jubilantly afterward to “Viva Las Vegas!”
Shall we share a fun bit of trivia about this lovely couple? We were amazed when the beautiful bride, Linda, revealed to us that she was wearing her ORIGINAL wedding gown from 50 years ago! This may have been the first time any bride has appeared in her original dress at our chapel after 50 years! (If we are wrong, we’d love to know…But we’re pretty sure that this is a rare event among vow renewal ceremonies!)
If you’re interested in renewing your vows on an anniversary (not necessarily your 25th or even 50th), the Elvis Blue Hawaii Wedding is equal parts fun and nostalgia, just right for the occasion. But we can customize any of our Elvis or Themed Wedding Packages for your light-hearted-yet-meaningful vow renewal. (And, yes, there are couples who renew vows in a traditional way, too, often in one of our outdoor chapels.)
Some couples choose to marry again as a surprise for their families. And, some families surprise their PARENTS with a vow renewal, while others just invite everyone to come to Vegas to witness the fun. If you come on a second honeymoon, though, your friends and family can watch online back home if you upgrade with live streaming coverage. We often do fun and memorable multiple-couple vow renewals as well, when great friends want to create a great Vegas memory and say “I Do” all over again.
Our best wishes go out to Linda and Frank for continued happiness. We will long remember your special day with us!
Viva Las Vegas Weddings’ Elvis and Themed Weddings make loving and light-hearted wedding vow renewals, so it’s no surprise that couples celebrating 10, 15 or 20 years of marriage include the kids on their special day! Young ones love wearing costumes as part of a themed vow renewal, and even if the ceremony you choose is more traditional, they feel very grown up dressing in fancy duds for the occasion as they take part in the proceedings.
We see a lot of tiny Elvi going down the chapel’s aisle (see below), but our Superhero, Blue Hawaii, and Intergalactic weddings also bring out some junior-sized luau wear and character costumes. Ring bearers and flower girls strut their stuff as gangsters, wizards, space princesses, and mini-zombies. For kids who are less outgoing, though, themed and Elvis ceremonies are casual enough that shorts and t-shirts are fine, too. Some just add a tropical lei, or Elvis sunglasses, available here in our gift shop.
At Viva Las Vegas Weddings, we encourage creativity. We still remember an entire family who came dressed as Vikings, and another where all the male family members wore kilts. Other families and their guests have arrived dressed as space aliens of every ilk. Needless to say, we don’t have many boring days here at the the chapel! While Themed and Elvis Weddings are not for everyone for their first weddings, vow renewals bring out a whole different side–and a lot of imagination–in couples.
Consider adding-on a casual Doo Wop Diner reception if your wedding is a family affair. We’ll serve up sliders, hot dogs, sundaes/soda fountain fare in our retro 1950s setting. We take requests for all weddings, vow renewals, and receptions. Just give us a call with your ideas and special needs, and we’ll do all we can to make it happen for you! 702-384-0771
Wedding couples often ask which is our most popular Elvis wedding. The Elvis Blue Hawaii wedding package, of course! You’ll feel like you’re in a tropical paradise with the “ocean mist” (created by our theatrical fog machines) rolling in, a hula girl swaying, and Elvis crooning “The Hawaiian Wedding Song” as you cuddle or slow dance at the altar. Many couples opt to add our fantastic pink Cadillac entrance down the aisle! It’s Vegas, baby! So feel free to go all-out with the optional extras!
We’ll share some highlights from Stan and Cynthia’s Elvis Blue Hawaii wedding. Check out a minute or two of their fun-filled vow exchange!
This all-inclusive package includes Elvis singing “Viva Las Vegas!” and two other songs performed live, flowers, photography and video, plus round-trip limo service from your Strip or Downtown hotel. You’ll have your names in lights on our marquee for a fabulous photo-op after your ceremony, too! We probably don’t even need to mention that the Elvis Blue Hawaii is also our most popular wedding vow renewal package! It has a special elegance, and yet the ceremony is very casual, so we encourage sarongs, Hawaiian shirts, beachwear and sandals. Getting married barefoot works, too!
Please call us with any of your questions about our unique Blue Hawaii wedding package. Our staff can suggest upgrades like exotic orchid leis or a wedding cake packaged to-go. This is one wedding you might want to stream live online to friends and family back home–they will be sorry to miss being here in person! See you in the “islands” for your wedding “on the beach” with Elvis! Viva Las Vegas Weddings, 702-384-0771
