Batman Themed Wedding in Las Vegas? We’ve got you covered! Superman as your wedding minister? Wonder Woman? We’ve got those, too. While not all your comic book faves may be on our website at www.vivalasvegasweddings.com, you CAN make a special request to have your wedding or wedding vow renewal officiated by any comic, TV or movie character you can dream up! Recently, by special request, the Joker AND Harley Quinn from the Batman franchise made an appearance at a spectacular Viva Las Vegas Wedding. We’re always happy to find the right themed music and diabolical matrimonial plot. We’ll also add smoke effects, theatrical lighting and everything you need to feel like you’ve stepped into a wedding episode of your favorite series!
At Viva Las Vegas Weddings, you can swap out any of the elements included in your selected wedding packages to customize the ceremony and make it perfect for you. Begin by choosing the most similar of our Themed Wedding offerings to what you have in mind. You’ll find them on the dropdown menu on our website. Themed Weddings all include limousine service, flowers, theatrical effects, photography and videography. Then just let us know what you want as an upgrade. Or, you also can just start with a simple, Traditional Wedding package, then substitute your minister with the character of your choice, as an upgraded feature. We will customize a package just for you, if you don’t need all the frills.
With autumn in the air, you can even have a character-themed wedding (Elvis, too!) in our lush Outdoor Gazebo or Garden Chapel. You won’t have all the theatrics that are available in our gorgeous Main Chapel, but you can still add a bit of fun to your outdoor wedding–by day, or by evening, with gorgeous fall temperatures and twinkling white lights.
Give us a call to create YOUR comic book themed wedding! We even rent costumes in our Viva Las Vegas Costume Shop, just behind the chapel. Let us create some comic book magic for YOUR wedding or, even better, anniversary wedding vow renewal! For more information, our friendly staffers await your questions at 702-384-0771.

All-inclusive packages in our Main Chapel or Outdoor Gazebo or Garden Chapels begin at under $300. Plus, if you are a veteran or are currently serving in the military, your minister’s fee will be waived when you show your military I. D. (A $60 value!) We proudly support our military personnel and their families as a member of Military Partners. (http://www.militarypartners.com/Links/Market_Directory/Wedding.asp)
Military Partners launched in August of 1999 to reach a vast target audience of Armed Forces members worldwide. This organization offers a “Military One-Stop” website that includes a detailed market directory providing special discounts and values to the military. Companies such as AT&T, Pepsi-Cola, Volvo Military Sales and Delta Air Lines were among the first to join the partnership website. Military Partners, through the initiatives of this site and its partners, aims to ease the difficulty of lengthy deployment and/or family separation. We are pleased to be a part of this effort to give back to servicemen and servicewomen everywhere.
Even if you’re not in the service, you can still take advantage of our Veteran’s Day Wedding Specials! See below for details, and give us a call to reserve your time slot during the popular holiday weekend! If you’ve been married with us at Viva Las Vegas Weddings, chances are you’ve run into Ron (sometimes as Elvis or Dracula) or Jamie (wedding coordinator extraordinaire). As hard as they’re working, running around the place at full tilt, you might never guess they’re our chapel owners! Both play multiple “roles” in all the weddings produced here. Plus, they supervise and manage world-class wedding receptions and shows at the adjacent Ron Decar’s Event Center. (We’re pretty sure they never sleep.)
Both Ron and Jamie came from entertainment backgrounds. Ron as a lead singer on the Las Vegas Strip, and Jamie as a professional ice skater and later a dancer in Las Vegas production shows. Looking back, it makes perfect sense that when Ron found himself moonlighting as Elvis at Strip wedding chapels, he decided to team up with Jamie to create Viva Las Vegas Weddings. When a historic mission-style chapel became available right on the Strip, they jumped at the opportunity.
With their own chapel, they envisioned not only Elvis and traditional weddings, but also themed weddings that were actually self-contained mini-shows. They wanted to include sets, props, theatrical effects, lights, sounds, and an endless variety of talented singer/actor “ministers.” And…the rest is history. After nearly 20 years and thousands of incredible weddings, they are both, basically, still sane. 🙂 Jamie, while still a performer at heart, manages many of the business aspects of running the chapel, and also answers phones, coordinates weddings, and even fills in as photographer and videographer at weddings during peak times. Ron has played nearly every character for every themed wedding at the chapel, but most often is seen among our “staff” of Elvis impersonators.
Today, Ron is a licensed minister and performs traditional ceremonies in the Main Chapel as well as the Gazebo and Garden Chapels. But he’s just as comfortable singing in Phantom of the Opera weddings and portraying 007 in James Bond weddings as he is crooning as Elvis! Jamie is a whiz behind the scenes. As crazy busy as it sometimes gets at the chapel, you’ll still find him, ever multi-tasking but cool as a cucumber. He’s the glue that holds it all together! (Jamie also plays a mean “Brad” in our Rocky’s Horror Themed Wedding Package.)
So, if you’re getting married with us at Viva Las Vegas Weddings and spot one of these familiar faces, be sure to say “hello”–and please tell these two to slow down and smell the roses! 🙂 (And for more information about any of our Elvis, Traditional, or Themed weddings, check us out at www.vivalasvegasweddings.com)
At Viva Las Vegas Weddings, we don’t just do Elvis weddings and weddings with themed character ministers. We also have on staff several friendly and caring traditional wedding officiants, too. (And, at Viva Las Vegas Chapel, you can always ADD Elvis to sing at your traditional ceremony!) With us from DAY ONE–for nearly twenty years now– is the UK-born Reverend Daphne. She has just a touch of a British accent, and a heart filled with loving words and helpful advice for our wedding couples. We’ll share some of her answers to some oft-asked questions here. 🙂
1. What advice do you have for couples who may want to personalize their ceremonies at the chapel?
Some couples (mainly from the South) end a ceremony with “jumping the broom.” Of course, they have to bring the broom! This tradition dates from late 18th century England, and it experienced new popularity with couples in this country after it was seen on the iconic TV series, Roots. I’ve sometimes seen another fascinating wedding ritual. Instead of lighting a unity candle, couples will pour different-colored sand into a vase making a personalized design. (Again, they have to bring vase and sand.) If you’d like to do something meaningful and original along these lines, just let the staff know your plans at the time you book your wedding. That way, we can arrange for any special music or other elements you might need during the ceremony. Also check for all our special upgrades on the Viva Las Vegas Weddings website. http://www.vivalasvegasweddings.com/wedding-upgrades
2. What can brides can wear to their summer weddings to stay cool and still look beautiful?
There are many short-to-ankle-length dresses out there that are beautiful. The long, frou-frou dresses with looooong veils are not comfortable or suitable in the summer for quick Las Vegas weddings. Keep that for the outdoor-at-a-mansion wedding. REMEMBER, just because you LOVE the dress, it may not love you!. Keep in mind what fits your body. DON’T go with any style just because you fall in love with the gown! I have seen too many brides that look really bad in a beautiful dress that simply doesn’t flatter them. Know your body type and the styles that show you off positively. Many full-chested women want strapless gowns. But when you find yourself constantly pulling up the dress, this results in being self-conscious and VERY uncomfortable. Try a halter bodice or Grecian style (over one shoulder). Take the time and bring the dress with you to buy CORRECT under garments i.e. bra, corset, waist cincher etc. that are necessary for the dress. You’ll feel slimmer and cooler. I have seen too many brides pass out in the heat during the ceremony from too tight waist cincher or corset. OR a dress smaller than her body to appear slimmer. Remember the groom is marrying you, not the dress. By the way, WARNING – black undergarments under a white dress– NOT SEXY!!
3. Can you offer any advice for writing your own vows to each other?
Often couples don’t exactly write wedding vows but simply have words they want to say to each other. I always say the traditional vows at every ceremony, then I ask the couple if they have words to share with one another. KEEP IT SHORT. If not pre-prepared, just “I love you” or “I’m so happy that we are here today” is more than enough. That said, MOST couples prefer just to repeat the vows that are part of my ceremony. That’s perfectly okay, too. We like to give everyone the opportunity to personalize their wedding vows if they wish.
4. Can you recommend any romantic places for a special wedding night dinner in Las Vegas?
The “Top of the Stratosphere” is my first choice–just a few blocks away from our chapel. It’s a revolving 360-degree restaurant with a fantastic view of Las Vegas, especially at night. It’s a little pricey, but well worth it for that “special day.”
Do YOU have a question for Daphne? Need expert wedding advice? What is the most unusual wedding Rev. Daphne has ever seen? Can she tell if a marriage is going to last, judging by the behavior of the couple on their wedding day? Look for past interviews with Reverend Daphne in our archived blogs, or feel free to post a question in the comments. She’ll get back to you in a future post!
On a recent summer evening, Patrick and Kim came all the way from Glasgow, Scotland to be married in Las Vegas in our Viva Las Vegas Outdoor Gazebo. (You might be surprised to learn that nearly 20% of our wedding couples come from abroad to get married in Las Vegas, with Elvis…or…not.) The couple had only just become engaged two days before their arrival in Vegas–on a road trip from Seattle to Dallas.
We asked how they found Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel and they said they were Googling chapels and loved our Outdoor Gazebo as soon as they saw it. Kim and Patrick added that they appreciated our clear and friendly website. They also spent some time with our vivacious and helpful wedding staffer, Olivia, chatting online.
According to the new Mr. and Mrs., “We loved our wedding! Everyone at Viva Las Vegas was so friendly and welcoming and made things so easy. Other couples from abroad probably have more time in Vegas arranged and we only had two nights, but in that time we planned an awesome wedding. In fact we arranged our wedding from scratch on the same day thanks to you guys!” And WE loved hearing such positive feedback. Kind words from brides and grooms always make us want to try even harder to make EVERY wedding that special.
Many couples find that our many all-inclusive and affordable wedding packages in Las Vegas make it possible for them to travel from around the world, visit several of the States, then be married, all for the price of a “regular” church wedding back home. While many family and friends might not be able to come along, they CAN watch the wedding streaming live online from anywhere in the world.
Patrick continued, “We’ve been together 11 years, and Kim didn’t see the proposal coming. Being married just the two of us in Vegas felt just right for us and we loved the personal touch the minister put into the vows. When the great photographer showed us our names up in lights outside the chapel, that was amazing. We’ve been on the holiday of a lifetime and we’re going home married. You guys were a huge part of that. We thank you.” Thank YOU, Patrick and Kim! We wish you all the best for a happy lifetime together. We hope you’ll come see us for an anniversary vow renewal one day, and a road tour of the OTHER half of the country. 🙂
Summer at Viva Las Vegas Weddings means a lot of Hawaiian shirts, sandals, and many of our popular Elvis Blue Hawaii and Beach Party themed weddings. (Bare feet are okay, too!) We’ve got the palm trees, ocean mist, and all the scenic props for a fun-filled ceremony reminiscent of summers past. Pictured here is our Beach Party wedding, which can be officiated by your choice of Surfer Dude, Elvis, Stoned Hippie, or wacky Reverend Rainbow as “minister.”
The Beach Party wedding includes your favorite Beach Boys tunes, flowers, photography and DVD, round-trip limousine service and your names in lights out on our marquee on the Las Vegas Strip after the ceremony! (Guests will want to bring beach togs and Hawaiian shirts as well as their cameras to capture that picturesque moment when you exit the chapel through the doors just below the sign!)
Brides can choose to be carried down the aisle on a surfboard by our hunky surfer dudes, or some couples prefer to be escorted by them as they walk to the altar together. White bikinis and veils are always an option for this wedding! For couples celebrating an anniversary, this makes a casually memorable way to renew your vows in front of family and friends, in person, or watching online!
Our Beach Party Wedding Package includes:
Surfer Dude, Elvis, or Reverend Rainbow as Minister
