Only in Las Vegas! If you’re getting married in Las Vegas this week—for Valentine’s Day or Mardi Gras, you can visit the new pop-up marriage license office, greeting travelers at McCarran International Airport. The kiosk is located right in baggage claim! The Clark County Clerk’s Office will keep the office open from Feb. 9th to 17th to help alleviate holiday wedding traffic in the downtown Marriage Bureau. Besides Valentine’s Day weddings, there are also President’s Day and Chinese New Year weddings, plus Mardi Gras, masquerade style weddings.. “The days around Valentine’s Day and the Presidents’ Day weekend are always some of our busiest,” according to County Clerk Lynn Goya. The pop-up Marriage Bureau is located in the baggage claim area in Terminal 1. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through the end of the week. More here, from our local newspaper:
For any legal wedding (same-sex legal weddings are welcome here, too!) in Las Vegas, you will need a marriage license from the State of Nevada. There is no waiting period or blood test. The Marriage Bureau downtown is open from 8:00 a.m. until midnight every day of the year, including Sundays and holidays, for those who will be marrying after the airport kiosk closes. The Marriage Bureau is located at 201 Clark Ave Las Vegas, NV 89101. It’s within easy walking distance of the Golden Nugget and the Fremont Street Experience, in downtown Las Vegas.
The license fee is $77, and both parties must be present to obtain license. (Cash is best, since credit cards are not accepted.) If either party is divorced, you’ll need to provide the date, city and state of the most recent divorce.
The fastest and easiest way to get your marriage license at the kiosk or Downtown is to go to their website and pre-register online at:
https://aivitals.co.clark.nv.us/webinquiryinternet/ Click “Marriage Application” in the top right corner.
Remember to bring your marriage license with you when you come to the chapel to get married. The minister will sign it and file it with the Clark County Clerk’s office within 10 days of the wedding. The Marriage Bureau will provide you with information on how to get certified copies of your marriage certificate after the wedding. You have one year from the date of issue of the Marriage License to have a licensed minister in the State of Nevada perform the wedding. And, DON’T FORGET THE RINGS!
