Did you know that Las Vegas officially named a street after the King of Rock ‘n Roll? Elvis Presley Boulevard (formerly Riviera Boulevard) runs from the Las Vegas Strip to Paradise Road near the Las Vegas Convention Center. It’s just four-tenths of a mile long and the name change was suggested by the Westgate Hotel, formerly the Las Vegas Hilton, and the International before that. The International Hotel was the home of Elvis’s celebrated Las Vegas residency from the late 1960s to the early 1970s.
Clark County approved the name change in May of 2015, but the new signs were only recently installed. Here’s video:
For you hard-core Elvis fans planning an Elvis wedding or vow renewal with us at Viva Las Vegas Weddings, the new street is just down the Strip from our chapel. You can even arrange to stay at the Westgate. which is slightly off the Strip but close to all the action, and mid-way between Strip resorts and downtown resorts. Best of all, you can take take a selfie with the Elvis commemorative statue in the lobby!
Remember, if you still want a Traditional Wedding ceremony in Las Vegas with a “regular” minister, there’s no reason you can’t add Elvis to sing a song or two during the wedding! Or have Elvis escort the bride down the aisle as he sings. We can customize any wedding to make it as traditional or kitschy as you like. All of our weddings include the ultimate photo-op of your picture in front of your names in lights on the marquee in front of the chapel, facing Las Vegas Boulevard! (You can get one near Elvis Presley Boulevard anytime during your honeymoon!)
