If you’re getting married in Las Vegas, especially at Viva Las Vegas Weddings (where you can get hitched in our gorgeous Main Chapel, in the Doo Wop 50s Diner, or in an Outdoor Gazebo or Garden Chapel) you might see more than one Elvis dashing by on their way to marry couples in one of our picturesque venues. As we approach the most popular wedding season at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapels, we often need all the Elvis’s we can get!
This spring, we’re happy to introduce our newest Elvis, Michael Conti, who’s been getting rave reviews from brides and grooms since he joined our staff a few weeks ago. He’s usually rocking a mean black or midnight blue jumpsuit, and is an incredible sound-a-like to boot.
Michael has been working as an Elvis Tribute Artist for 20 years, ever since an old friend got him to sing an Elvis song at a karaoke bar in LA. Originally from McAllen, Texas, Michael graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Radio, TV and Film. Early on, he worked as an actor and model in Dallas, and has been singing and playing drums since the 6th grade. You may have seen him on The Strip at the world-famous Legends in Concert, but he’s also performed all over the country. As with many Elvis impersonators, he accidentally fell into the profession and now serenades and performs your wedding vows here at Viva Las Vegas Weddings.
Michael says, “What I like best (about marrying brides and grooms) is that I meet different people from all over. Plus, I get to sing to them every day.” Michael adds that if he weren’t portraying Elvis, he’d like to be a talk show host, because he’s inquisitive by nature and enjoys asking folks questions about themselves. Asked about some of the most memorable weddings he’s witnessed, Michael answers, “There are many crazy stories, but I guess the craziest took place at a wedding years ago. A groom was renewing his vows, and suddenly he pulled his pants down. Whaaaaat? He was pretty drunk. Not something I wanted to see.” (For the record, that didn’t happen at Viva Las Vegas Weddings, where we’re obliged to make sure couples are not intoxicated at their weddings. Sorry, everyone. Even at a vow renewal, we encourage guests to save the liquid celebration for after the ceremony.)
When not performing or doing weddings, Michael enjoys taking his Vizsla dog, Venus, for walks. “She’s a sporting dog, and needs lots of exercise and attention–just like me! I’m an Aries, and I’m always keeping busy one way or another.” We’re doing our best to keep him hopping at Viva Las Vegas Weddings.
Our newest Elvis has already doubled as The Grim Reaper in a Gothic Wedding, and we expect to see him in various other roles for our themed weddings. As a drummer, maybe playing as Ringo at our Beatles-themed wedding will be his next matrimonial challenge….
Best wishes and Happy Birthday to our latest addition, Michael Conti. After the interview, Michael added, in typical Elvis style, “Thank ya, thank ya very much!” To book YOUR Elvis wedding in Vegas, visit us at www.vivalasvegasweddings.comShare on Facebook
