Clearly, the bride and groom were not in Kansas anymore. Dixie and Kevin (of Salina, Kansas) exchanged wedding vows this week at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. They chose the Egyptian themed wedding ceremony, with vows delivered by The Pharaoh himself. Two hunky Egyptian dudes carried the bride down the misty, candlelit aisle on Cleopatra’s throne. And, in keeping with the theme, Dixie and Kevin wore full-on Eygptian regalia, including a lavish beaded headpiece for the beautiful bride and an elaborate robe for the groom.
The loving couple, according to their Viva Las Vegas wedding website, met at a church camp in summer of 2009. Kevin was teaching Sunday school there when Dixie first set eyes on him. Who knew that this initial meeting would lead to a Vegas themed wedding a few short years later? Their unique wedding plans worked out really well for the whole family, too. Las Vegas is not only the wedding capital of the universe, but it’s also a really fun and exciting honeymoon destination that’s GREAT for guests. In fact, one consideration in the wedding planning was that Dixie’s mother loves casinos.
Remember, at Viva Las Vegas Weddings, you can customize any of our traditional, themed or Elvis wedding packages. For example, it’s perfectly okay to add Elvis to your Egyptian wedding, if that’s your thing–or even if you can’t decide on one theme. Visit www.vivalasvegasweddings.com to explore all the endless possibilities. Whether you’re from Kansas or California, you can still get married along the Nile. Our best wishes to Dixie and Kevin for an eternity of happiness!
