Getting Your Marriage License in Vegas? Make it Easy, Fun, and Memorable!

Even though there’s no waiting period and no blood test required to be married in Nevada, you’ll still have to deal with the business end of getting a license to get hitched. Dang. But you can still save some time, and make it a happy part of your wedding visit to Las Vegas. Read on for a few pointers.

Here’s what we at Viva Las Vegas Weddings recommend:  Go online (up to 60 days ahead) to http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/Depts/clerk/Services/pages/MarriageLicenses.aspx  Here you’ll click on the Marriage Pre-Application, which needs to be completed for both the bride and the groom. Then  print and bring these forms with you so you can get “express lane” service when you arrive at the Clark County Marriage Bureau (201 Clark Avenue, NW corner of 3rd and Clark). The Bureau is open until midnight during the week, 24 hours on weekends. You’ll need $60 cash (or $65 credit card); money orders and cashier’s checks are also accepted. You’ll need to show ID (check Bureau site for details on requirements) for both parties.

Once you’ve got that license in hand, make sure to bring it with you to our chapel on the day of your wedding. It is definitely a MUST HAVE. We can do the ceremony (somehow) if you’ve forgotten the rings, but not if you don’t have your license in hand!

Some folks have told us that after 10pm is a good time to get the license without much of a wait. So, why not enjoy a fabulous dinner on nearby Fremont St. beforehand? We will be happy to recommend some great restaurants. (Just leave a question as a comment, and maybe mention what kind of food you like.) Or, if you plan to get your license during the day, you might combine your trip downtown with an excursion to one of Las Vegas’  newest museums—The Mob Museum or The Neon Museum, both featuring artifacts from the glamour and mystique that is the early history of Las Vegas. Just ask any of our friendly and knowledgeable staff about any aspect of your prospective stay in Las Vegas. We’ll do our best to make every minute of your wedding trip a highlight of your lifetime of memories together.
